1970s Cape Metamorphosis
The owners of this basic Cape-style house, a young couple with an active skier lifestyle, wanted to bring their home into the 21st century.
We collaborated with Cushman Design Group on the remodel design, which included adding dormers, a screened porch a bi-level deck from the master suite to the porch, and a mud room. We also did a total kitchen renovation, upgraded all the windows, added a new fireplace hearth, and finished the basement. It was a challenging project due to the site conditions—steep slopes on two sides of the house, making it difficult to bring in machinery. We love solving logistical challenges and rose to the occasion. The end result is a semi-modern home close to the ski slopes, with enough room for visiting friends and family.
