OUR TEAM

Selecting the right team is as important as selecting the right materials for your home. Our dedicated staff has been in the building industry for years, bringing a passion for design and construction as well as working with people.

STEVE SISLER
STEVE SISLER  •  OWNER
steve@sislerbuilders.com

Steve opened Sisler Builders in 1983, after graduating from Union College with a degree in Industrial Economics and building his first home for a close friend. But woodworking and construction had been a part of his life for a long time before that.

As a child, Steve helped his father restore antique Adirondack guide boats. He got involved in construction during his teenage years when he and his mother began renovating historic buildings in Ithaca, New York.

Throughout his long career, Steve has always enjoyed being on the jobsite where all the action happens. He takes a hands-on approach to his business and is fully engaged in every project. A natural innovator, he enjoys helping his clients see possibilities that might have been overlooked in the design process.

Steve also takes his job as a team leader quite seriously. He is an avid ice-hockey player and has 20 seasons of coaching under his belt - from youth hockey to college junior-varsity teams. He feels that his time on the ice, as both a player and a coach, has enhanced his ability to build and motivate his team on the jobsite.

Steve is proud of the project management team he’s built over the years and the solid reputation that his company has earned in the area.
JEFF GRACE, PE
JEFF GRACE, PE  •  BUSINESS MANAGER
jeff@sislerbuilders.com

Jeff is a Professional Engineer with bachelor's and master's degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Previously Jeff worked as a civil engineer overseeing large water and waste water infrastructure projects through design and construction. While growing up he worked as a carpenter for his father's commercial construction company in their home town of Waterbury.

A deep understanding of estimating, contract administration, and design combined with his hands-on experience allows Jeff to bring a balanced approach to any construction project. Jeff was drawn to Sisler Builders because of its reputation as an environmentally conscious builder. He especially appreciates renovation projects incorporating energy saving technologies.

A native Vermonter, Jeff loves the outdoors. He can often be found tending his enormous garden on their family's farm or struggling to keep lumber ahead of their sawmill. Jeff also enjoys hunting, fishing, rock climbing, hiking and especially ice hockey.
RICHARD DUDA
RICHARD DUDA  •  PROJECT MANAGER
richard@sislerbuilders.com

Richard worked summers, weekends, and holidays as a carpenter and cabinetmaker to help pay his way through college. He then opened his own cabinet shop after graduating from Goddard College in 1979.

Before joining the team at Sisler Builders, Richard worked in the Ben & Jerry’s engineering department as the facility manager, overseeing the factory, tour facility, and main offices. He worked closely with the art department when completing a tour-enhancement project that affected both the inside and outside of the building. During his time at Ben & Jerry’s, he also developed and implemented a landscape master plan.
MASON ADAMS
MASON ADAMS  •  PROJECT MANAGER
mason@sislerbuilders.com

A master at managing a complex construction project, Mason relies on a complete breath of construction experience that began at age 12 as a mason tender. He has a degree in Business Administration and previously ran his own construction business. Extensive experience in wood working, framing and design allows Mason to deftly balance quality with efficiency. For many years he collaborated with Sisler Builders as a lead sub-contractor and recently made the tie more formal.

Mason was drawn to Stowe as a teenager to ski race in which he competed in for a decade. Later he switched to skiing on water competing at a national level for another decade. Now Mason challenges himself by sparring in Brazilian Jujitsu and studying Russian.

MATTHEW ROULEAU
MATTHEW ROULEAU  •  SITE SUPERVISOR
matt@sislerbuilders.com

Matthew decided when he was a teenager that he wanted to build houses. After completing a four-year tour in the Navy, he began working in construction, first in South Carolina and then back in his native state of Vermont.

Before joining Sisler Buidlers, Matthew was employed for Ben & Jerry’s in Waterbury, Vermont for thirteen years. He completed, during that time, a plumbing apprenticeship and then acquired both his Journeyman and Masters certifications — not a small feat. He also taught classes for the plumber apprenticeship program for four years.

With his experience in both plumbing and home building, Matthew brings a unique combination of skills to our team.
KEVIN KINNEY
KEVIN KINNEY  •  SITE SUPERVISOR
kevin@sislerbuilders.com

A native of northern Vermont, Kevin began working in the restaurant business during high school. He continued on the food-and-beverage track through his early twenties, as a chef in a small Vermont inn. After enrolling in the New England Culinary Institute’s associates program, he held positions in several Stowe restaurants.

Throughout his career in the restaurant business, Kevin continued to work as a carpenter’s helper during the day. He eventually decided to return to carpentry full-time after determining that the erratic schedule of the food and beverage industry wasn’t for him.

Kevin enjoys the tangible aspects of carpentry - quality work and happy clients at the end of the day. He finds all aspects of home building and remodeling gratifying, but he particularly enjoys utilizing new building techniques and materials to increase a home’s energy efficiency.
NOI JONES
NOI JONES  •  FINISH FOREMAN
noi@sislerbuilders.com

Noi has over 20 years of experience in every aspect of construction, having been introduced to the trade by his father as a teenager. He grew up in the Morrisville area and is a fifth generation Vermonter on one side of the family and a first descent Thai on the other.

He is particularly skilled at finish details, which includes staircases, custom cabinetry, and wainscoting, and enjoys sharing his extensive knowledge of the trade with clients on the jobsite.

Carpentry work is both interesting and challenging for Noi, and he takes tremendous pride in his work and finds it extremely gratifying. At the end of the day, he feels a sense of accomplishment when he has a chance to sit back and review a job well done.
STEVE GRUNER
STEVE GRUNER  •  FINISH SPECIALIST
gruner@sislerbuilders.com

Steve’s passion for excellence and desire for challenging and diverse work make him a driving force on the finish crew. Steve started his construction career as a framer, but soon realized that the fine detail of finish work was a better fit for his personality.

A meticulous craftsman, Steve enjoys interacting directly with owners so that he has a clear idea of their expectations. He can then fully apply his skills to make it happen. Steve welcomes the challenge of striking an appropriate balance between efficiency and precision work. And he’s constantly seeking to learn new construction methods to enhance his repertoire of techniques.
